Hi and welcome, I’m Camiel Schoonens and nice to e-meet you. You probably came to this page because you googled me out of professional or personal interest. Feel free to read on if you want to learn more about me and I encourage you to contact me through the Twitter or LinkedIn if you want to get in contact with me directly.
In my personal life I’m a proud husband and father to three children currently living in Oudewater, the Netherlands. In my professional life I work for Worldline, a world-class leader in the payments and transactional services industry. I joined Worldline in 2020 through the acquisition of Ingenico where I was taking the role of CTO for the Global ePayments business line. In my current role I’m leading the global Product and Technology business line.
I started my professional career almost 20 years ago and in these two decades I’ve learned that people appreciate my leadership style in different roles and different contexts.
People working with me describe me as an energetic leader, as someone who guides teams into the future and leads the way by setting an example. I see myself as a culture builder and a driver of change. As a leader I’m proud when people look back at my legacy and describe me as a person who delivered on his promises. This is what I stand for and would be the culture I would want to leave behind with any team that I work with.
In my personal life I spend as much time as possible with my wife, kids and friends. I like to practice photography and play around with technology. For sports I pick up a race bike or run a few kilometers, and to finally get get some rest I read a few pages in a good book every night. I live in the beautiful ancient town of Oudewater which is located in the center of The Netherlands.
